The Pirate Show

We agreed that we should follow a similar style to Songbook and build the narrative around around a selection of nautical/piratical songs or performances. Paul said he would like to integrate more projections.

Pat has been working on a personal project - a kids book about stealing the Cutty Sark. She said we could use some of the ideas in the show. The ship can visit a number of sites to explore history or themes

Themes and ideas we can integrate into the narrative include:

Birds - migration.

Toxic fumes - hallucinations and dreams

Frank and Paul are determined to get Kate Bush into this show so will dress up as siren Kates and lure sailors to their death.

LGBTQ+ History Month

Paul is going to write a funding bid for Greenwich Council to fund a history month project. We decided to use poetry as a starting point. Paul will speak to Woolwich Works about running the project there

Pat and Frank are going to run workshops.

What other activities can we run?

Finish a two day programme with a Poetry Slam?

Entitled We’re Still Here we will explore older LGBTQ+ voices.

Group Activity

Frank suggested that we visit Pirates of Penzance at Wilton’s. Anyone interested please let me know through the WhatsApp group.

Engagement

We need to get more people to join the group so can everyone speak to friends or frenemies and encourage them to come along when it seems appropriate. As we are still in the planning stage it may be better to wait until we have more workshops programmed

Mental Health/Well-being

The funding for this is based on exploring the positive benefits of creative activity on mental health and well-being. Because of this we are likely to be visited by evaluators interested in the project. I have also commissioned an external evaluator to look at ways we can document the positive impacts of the project. I would also be interested in any ideas you have as to how we can ensure that the group feel confident in discussing any health concerns or worries they may have.
